PRESCRIPTION REFILLS
UNDERSTANDING UNINSURED MEDICAL SERVICES
Please note that prescription renewals requested outside of a medical appointment are not covered by OHIP and fall under uninsured services.
Although this service was previously provided to you at no cost, it requires significant unpaid physician time outside of regular patient visits.
To help support the sustainability of this care, a $25 uninsured service fee will apply to prescription refills completed outside of an appointment, effective April 1, 2026. This fee helps compensate your physician for the time spent reviewing and renewing your medications safely.
HOW TO AVOID THIS FEE
• Request refills of all your medications during your regular appointments OR
• Book a refill appointment 2 to 3 months before your medications run out
• Check your medication labels regularly for remaining refills (“ref” or “rep”)

STEPS TO REFILL YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS OUTSIDE OF A MEDICAL APPOINTMENT
STEP 1: Pay for your prescription refill HERE
You will receive a payment receipt via e-mail.
STEP 2: Forward your payment receipt to info@ascentmedicalcentre.com confirming the payment and list the medications requiring renewal
STEP 3: Our staff will process your prescripton request directly with your physician
To preserve phone access for urgent medical needs, prescription refill requests must be submitted through this online process whenever possible. Patients without internet access may leave a voicemail to arrange payment.
Please allow 2 business days for processing as physicians review refill requests outside of regular clinic hours while continuing to provide care during scheduled appointments during the day.
